Session9 – March 29, 2017　at Tokyo Headquarters (K’s Gobancho)

The president briefly talked the Fostering Next Generation Human Resources Program and JST’s Open Science Policy. Then, Deputy Executive Director Saito talked about the Science Caravan 2016, which is the recovery support from the Great East Japan Earthquake. As one of operations of the Global Science Campus, Dr. Shinobu Sato and Dr. Ryuichiro Machida, both from the Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba, introduced the program “GFEST: Global Future Expert in Science & Technology”. Furthermore, three high school students: K.Tabuchi, R.Uchiyama, and Y.Takase, who participated in GFEST, talked their motivations for attending the program, future goals, and summaries of the research.

Session8 – February 22, 2017　at Tokyo Headquarters (K’s Gobancho)

The president briefly introduced　“Gender Summit 10”, that is scheduled on May 25 — 26, 2017. Then, Ms. Miyoko WATANABE (Deputy Executive Director of JST) and one of the summit committee, Dr. Ryoichi FUJII (President, Research Organization of Information and Systems) explained about more details: the overview, programs, guest speakers, and satellite events.

Session7 – January 30, 2017　at Tokyo Headquarters (K’s Gobancho)

The president spoke about the New Year’s resolutions. Mr. Yoshimasa GOTO (Executive Director, JST) also introduced the new project, “Creation of the future society”. Then, Dr. Motomu KANAI (Research Leader, ERATO KANAI Life Science Catalysis Project) gave a lecture on “Catalysts for Medicine: Challenge for innovation of the new drug”.

On November 3rd, the first day of “Science Agora 2016”, JST President Hamaguchi, Mr. Rush Holt(National Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)), and three high school students who lived in the affected area of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Kumamoto Earthquake, talked about science and disaster.

Session6 – October 19, 2016 at Tokyo Headquarters (K’s Gobancho)

The president mentioned on “JST 20th Anniversary Project” and “Science Agora 2016”.

Dr. SOMEYA Takao (Research Leader. ERATO) also conducted a lecture on “Wearable and its future world - lighter than feathers, thinner and softer than a wrap”.
