Creating a platform for dialogue to drive innovation

JST works to accelerate innovation driven by close collaboration between industry, academia and government, and facilitated by a platform for dialogue between all three sectors. JST also aims to foster the creation of new industries and assist industries' efforts to strengthen their competitiveness. To achieve these goals, JST specifically focuses on strengthening basic research and R&D infrastructure through dialogue between industry and academia, as well as by implementing large-scale R&D projects through industry–academia consortia.
