Outline

I will develop a new technology which enables us to identify DNA/RNA sequences of multiple target sites accurately and simultaneously from many single cells in a given population. Using this technique, I will characterize the constituents of various cell populations as well as those of each individual cell, and will try to understand how the heterogeneity of cell populations affect the state of higher organismic organization, such as tissues or individuals. I will try to make the method accurate, easy, and inexpensive for medical applications as well.
