生物の「からだづくり」を体験しよう！

本展示では、実際に来場者に形態形成シミュレーターを操作・体験してもらい、様々な貝の形状や、角のデザインを体験し、自ら「つくりだす」楽しさを通して学んでもらう。誰でも直感的に操作ができるシミュレーターなので、生物の形態形成がシンプルなルールで説明できるケースがあることに驚いてもらえる。また、体験者には、実カブトムシの幼虫の配布も予定しており、後日自宅にて角が形成される様子を観察できる。これらの実体験を通し、素材の変形という生物のからだ作りのシンプルなルールを学び、我々の、そして体験者自身の、将来的な「ものづくり」の新規技術や新規手法の開発へのインスピレーションにつなげたい。

In this exhibition, visitors can actually operate and experience the PC morphogenesis simulator to experience construction various shell shapes and horn shapes. The simulator can be operated intuitively by anyone, and visitors will be surprised to learn that morphogenesis of organisms can be explained by simple rules. In addition, living beetle larvae will be distributed to participants so that they can observe the formation of horns at home at a later date. Through these experiences, we hope that the participants will learn the simple rule of transformation of materials to construct the body of an organism. We hope this experience will inspire us and them to develop new technologies and methods of "monozukuri" in the future.
