PATH-AI: Mapping an Intercultural Path to Privacy, Agency, and Trust in Human-AI Ecosystems
Project Outline
We investigate and analyze cultural differences between Japan and the UK for AI that is pervasive every corner of society.
Based on this analysis, we propose a concept of personal AI agent that aids an individual person in utilizing her/his personal data when various information service companies want to use it. Actually a personal AI agent can manage the conditions about how they use her/his personal data.
We also propose methods for realizing personal AI agents, formation of trusts via a personal AI agent, and legal systems to utilize it.
In addition, we investigate, analyze and make recommendations regarding the technical, social mechanism and legal system in which personal AI agents are entrusted with the time when their personal data cannot be fully managed, such as childhood and old age, and the handling of a large amount of personal data left after death.
