On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the Delegation of the European Union to Japan, in cooperation with the Cabinet Office of Japan and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), held the EU-Japan Science Policy Forum 2025 at the Kyoto International Conference Center.

Taking advantage of the occasion of the 22st annual meeting of the “Science and Technology in Society forum (STS forum),” 89 key figures in science and technology policy from Japan and Europe participated in the forum, the 14th of its kind. The main theme, Towards “Research and Innovation in a Changing World” and the sub-themes, “Dialogue on Research Security for Action” and “Nurturing startup ecosystem” were discussed.
