On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Center for Research and Development Strategies (CRDS) and the Office for International Science and Technology Policy and Information Study jointly hosted the Roundtable on Science Advice 2025 at the Kyoto International Conference Center.

JST held a roundtable discussion on the occasion of the 22th Annual Meeting of the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum, bringing together those who are playing scientific advisory roles in various ways to discuss common interests and concerns. Participants engaged in a candid exchange of views on the roles and challenges that science advice and science and technology advisors should play, while sharing best practices and recent initiatives from their respective countries and regions in light of the evolving international order.
