The Department for Promotion of Science in Society, JST published “The Present and Future Spoken by 15 Experts in Humanities and Social Sciences. The Path to Japan, 2050. Asking About that Process” as a part of the future society design actions.

The report compiled the opinions of 15 experts from humanities and social sciences, showing a glimpse of the convergence of knowledge which is advocated in the 6th Science, Technology, and Innovation Basic Plan under the aim to build "the future you want to create," after overcoming various social issues such as global population growth and an increasing number of severe natural disasters.

This report also outlines the characteristics of humanities and social sciences, and the viewpoints of the promotion of “the convergence of knowledge” based on the fusion of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
