This research aims to develop an network anomaly detection algorithm based on a multi-scale spatial-temporal image processing technique. Applying the proposed algorithm, we quantify the statistical macroscopic behavior of Internet traffic anomalies by using daily trans-pacific traffic traces during 2000-2010.
