Renewable Fuels jointly with the European Union under the Strategic
International Collaborative Research Program (SICORP) framework

The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) has decided to fund three projects as a part of its Japan-EU cooperation under the Strategic International Collaborative Research Program (SICORP).

SICORP is funding collaborative international research projects jointly with foreign funding agencies in priority research areas as set by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). As a part of its Japan-EU cooperation, JST is working with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research Innovation (DG RTD) under the Horizon 2020 framework on international research collaboration in the field of Advanced Biofuels and Alternative Renewable Fuels.

The call saw a total of 29 proposals submitted to JST out of which 3 were selected after being subjected to an evaluation process involving Japanese and EU experts. The research projects are expected to be supported for three years.
