(3) Applicant eligibility(Japan side)
Any independent researcher personally affiliated with (and actively conducting research at) a domestic Japanese research institution, regardless of nationality, is eligible to apply.
(4) Research period
Three years
(5) Amount of Funding
Up to 60 million yen from JST to the researchers (JST side) per project over three years, including overhead costs (30 percent of direct costs).
(6) Evaluation method
Based on scientific evaluations among experts from both Japan and EU and consultations between JST and European Commission

1) Evaluation of the project as a whole

- - Quality and efficiency of the implementation
2) Evaluation of Japanese research group in the project
- - Value of the project for Japan as a whole
- - Significance of participating in the project for Japanese research group, and additional values which can be expected from the joint research
- - Clear complementarity of task allocation between Japanese research group and the other research groups
