Moonshot Goal 6 Session in Quantum Innovation 2026
referred to as the Moonshot Goal 6 International Symposium

2026/12/11 15:10

Outline

While quantum computing holds the promise to solve humanity’s most pressing global challenges — from clean energy to sustainable food systems — overcoming quantum errors remains the ultimate frontier.
Japan’s Moonshot Goal 6 is tackling this challenge head-on. Aiming to realize a universal Fault-Tolerant Quantum Computer (FTQC) by 2050, the program entered its second five-year phase in 2026. This pivotal phase targets groundbreaking milestones: demonstrating Quantum Error Correction (QEC) by 2028, and delivering a small-scale FTQC proof-of-concept by 2030.
We cordially invite researchers, industry professionals, and students to join the conversation and help shape the future of quantum computing.
