Manipulation of Nano Interface of Drug-Delivery System and Its Application to Vaccine for Bird Flu

Research Project Outline

The function of nanoparticles employed to drug delivery sys-tem is mainly governed by interactions through hydrophobic/hydrophilic interface. Throughout this project, we are planning to explore nanostructure of the particles and how the drugs are trapped in the interface of the particles by use of synchro-tron X-ray scattering. One of the major applications is to provide novel methodology for molecular design of vaccine for pandemic fl u and gene delivery
