Macroscopic Properties of Liquids in Interfacial Nanopores

Research Project Outline

It has been known that liquids in nanopores are in different thermodynamic states. Boiling and freezing points of the liquids can be treated with parameters such as temperature and pressure. However, scientifi c treatment of the macroscopic properties like density, viscosity and diffusion coeffi cient has not been systematically studied. We will examine the fl uid-dynamic properties of the liquids in interfacial nanopores by means of molecular simulation and the latest structural analysis technologies, aiming at developing innovative mem-brane separation systems.
