Advanced Model Development and Simulations for Disaster Countermeasures

Research Project Outline

In order to forecast disaster, such as a typhoon and local severe rain, with still more sufficient accuracy, the ultra highspeed prediction simulation code will be developed with full use of the Earth Simulator. From the viewpoint of multi-scale multi-physics, the code is characterized by the high-resolution atmosphere-ocean and urban coupled model. The unique simulation code took in interactions among atmosphere, ocean and urban, which also introduced positively very advanced simulation techniques, and new experimental and observational data, is built.
