Overview
Message from the Research Supervisor
Our society is about to transform into a super-smart society (Society 5.0), where information technology would be deeply ubiquitous. In the Society5.0, a large amount of data of various types will be handled, where, in addition to the enhancement in the conventional information processing technologies, the key technologies include artificial intelligence (including deep learning), quantum computation, and optical computation. It is also necessary to enhance the real-time technology, which provides solutions to various problems in the real world within a certain temporal duration, such that it may also provide solutions to the diversifying social needs. Furthermore, new technologies of devices, circuits, architecture and software are required to integrate them and to enable them to operate with high efficiency, low energy, high security and reliability.
JST CREST " Technology for Computing Revolution for Society 5.0" has been carried out since 2018 with the goal of researching and developing new computing technologies that cannot be obtained by simply extending conventional technologies, with this super-smart society in mind. Eight research themes have been adopted and pursued to date.
This symposium will be held to present the results of the CREST internationally, to widely inform the public about the fruitful results, and to receive criticism and opinions with gratitude. We will start from a keynote talk from Professor Radu Maculescu of University of Texas at Austin, followed by presentations of eight projects with Q&A’s; posters and demonstrations will be displayed in parallel. This is a rare opportunity to view the results of Japan's leading researchers in one day, so we would appreciate it if you could participate and give us your opinions.
