INTRODUCTION

The objectives of this group are to propose a new concept, that of ‘pluripotent pores’ and to create PCPs with new functions. Pluripotency in the broad sense refers to “having more than one potential outcome”, and can be also used to describe the ability of certain substances to produce several distinct biological responses. In this project, we define pluripotent pores as quick-tunable, multi-functional pores of PCPs, which, in response to the surrounding materials or environmental demands, can switch to a new functional form via a specific chemical or physical process.
