Session3 – March 24, 2016 at Tokyo Headquarters (K’s Gobancho)

In this session, the President briefly spoke about recent topics as well as the JST 20th anniversary project and commemoration ceremony and forums.

Deputy Executive Director Saito also addressed a report titled “State of the JST activities dedicated to reconstruction of East Japan after the Great East Japan Earthquake.”

In addition, Chairman Kawabata and President Kawabata of Kawaki Co., Ltd., President Katano of ICOMES LAB Co., Ltd., and students of the Super Science department at Fukushima High School delivered lectures titled “Launching ‘Iwate Nambu Jigona Soba,’” “Development of stand-less infusion pump for emergency in the disaster site” and “D-Shuttle Project,” respectively.

In this session, the President briefly spoke about his overseas business trip this past June, the new research areas and research supervisors selected for CREST and PREST for the second term of 2015, and publication of the CRDS Panoramic View Report of Research and Development 2015.

Then, Dr. NOJI Hiroyuki, (Professor, Department of Applied Chemistry, The University of Tokyo) delivered a lecture on the subject of “Digital Revolution in Bioanalysis.”

In this session, the President introduced the topic titled “Realizing a super smart society” and the most recent report on the J-RAPID program.

Then, Dr. FUJITA Masayuki (Professor, Tokyo Institute of Technology / Research Supervisor, JST CREST) delivered a lecture on the subject of “CREST research area to establish a distributed cooperative energy management system: Challenge for new research area management.” Dr. HAYASHI Yasuhiro (Professor, Waseda University / Research Director, JST CREST) also addressed the topic of “Research and development on next generation cooperative energy management system (EMS) through dissemination of renewable energy and demand response.”
