Spin-wave-based devices are being studied as a central issue in spintronic research field to realize logic operations of ultralow-power consumption. In this research, a new device using FeNi thin film was designed and the interference of spin waves having different phase was observed. As the result, the constructive and destructive spin-wave interference signals were shown to stably exist. These two waves can express 1/0 signals of binary operation system, so the basic phenomenon of logic operation using spin wave were demonstrated in this research.
This finding gives the basis to develop an ultralow-power consumption logic device using spin wave to exceed the conventional electronic logic devices in future.
