Natural protein molecular capsules with the size of several 10-100 nm such as spherical viruses are constructed by self-assembling from symmetrical protein subunits. In this project, we will construct artificial peptide nano-capsules using C3- or C5-symmetric self-assembling peptide molecules. We aim to include nucleic acids or proteins into the interior of peptide nano-capsules, and apply those as nano-armor for nucleic acids and proteins.
