Functional Architecture and Postnatal Development of Association Cortex

Research Project Outline

The association cortex plays crucial roles in various cognitive functions. This project aims to elucidate the neuronal circuit underlying information processing in the visual association cortex in primates. We focus our efforts on the question of how visual function, local neuronal circuit, functional and anatomical architecture develop postnatally and undergo plastic changes after an experimental manupulation of sensory inputs.
