Development of Quantum Computation System with Neutral Atoms

Research Project Outline

Recent development of the laser cooling technique of neutral atoms has provided a mean of controlling atoms in various atom guides. The atomic Bose-Einstein condensates produced macroscopic quantum states of an atomic gas. As a result of those achievements, ultra-cold atoms are now one of the most promising candidates of elements for a quantum computer. Using the high-quality surface manipulation technique and our laser cooling experiences, we will try to develop a basic quantum computation system with ultra-cold neutral atoms.
