Basic Research of Quantum Information Processing Using Atomic Ensemble

Research Project Outline

In this research, contrary to the ordinary concept of quantum information processing where quantum logic gates are performed by controlling the individual quantum states, we aim at the realization of the quantum information processing, using "atomic ensemble", toward the application to the solid-state system for the future practical use. For this purpose, we will develop the basic techniques like generation of quantum entanglement of atomic states by unitary interaction, unitary exchange of quantum information between atoms and light, as well as quantum simulations of quantum many-body system.
