Research and Development of Integrated Ion Trap Quantum Computer Systems

Research Project Outline

Laser-cooled ions are expected to be a promising candidate for physical realization of quantum computer systems. In this research, we are going to develop key technologies to integrate the quantum computer systems, including research in motional-ground-state cooling, novel quantum gates, space manipulation of ions, sympathetic cooling, and interaction between ions and photons.
