Quantum Media Conversion from a Photon Qubit to an Electron-spin Qubit

Research Project Outline

In this project we create a new research field named "Nanospin- photonics-quantum information" as a combination of nano-technology, spintronics, photonics and quantum information. To realize a quantum media convertor from a photon qubit to an electron-spin qubit, g-factor engineering of an electron spin and rapid annihilation of a hole will be key issues. This project will contribute to the realization of a quantum repeater needed for unconditionally secure communications and a quantum-photonic interface used to interconnect distributed parallel quantum computers.
