備えて安心、口は災いの元？ 能登から学ぶ口の防災Prepared and Protected: What the Mouth Reveals — Oral Care in Disaster learned from Noto Peninsula Earthquake

災害が起きると、歯みがきができない、入れ歯が合わない、口が乾いて話しにくい……そんな“口の中の困りごと”が、健康を脅かす事態につながることがあります。能登半島地震での被災経験から「口の中も被災する」という現実が見えてきました。そこで本ブースでは、クイズアプリを活用し、災害時に役立つ歯みがきグッズの紹介や、つばを出す体操などを通じて、“口の防災”を子どもから大人まで楽しく体験・学習できる場を提供します。忘れがちだけど命に関わる「歯と口の防災」の大切さを、この機会にぜひ体感してください。

When a disaster strikes, people may face unexpected oral health issues—unable to brush their teeth, dentures that no longer fit, or a dry mouth that makes speaking difficult. These problems, though often overlooked, can seriously impact overall health. Based on firsthand experience during the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, we learned that “the mouth can also be affected by disaster.”
At this booth, we introduce the concept of “Oral Disaster Preparedness” through a hands-on experience using a quiz application we developed. Visitors of all ages—from children to adults— can learn about useful oral care items for emergencies and practice exercises that stimulate saliva flow.
This is a chance to discover the often-forgotten yet vital importance of protecting oral health in times of crisis.
