Abstract

Organic solar cells with a bulk heterojunction device structure have been tremendous progress in the past few years. However, in contrast to the versatile repertories of p-type materials, n-type materials are still limited to fullerene derivatives, and the development of a new class of n-type materials is highly desirable. In this project, n-type organic semiconductor materials based on p-conjugated compounds for the application to solar cells will be developed, and the novel concept of molecular design suitable for the practical use will be established.
