Abstract

PPR proteins consist large family only in higher plants. The PPR protein is a sequence-specific RNA binding protein that functions in various RNA processing, including RNA cleavage, editing or translation. The RNA binding of the PPR protein is controlled by the combination of multiple PPR motifs in the PPR protein. This research aims to develop a new RNA technology, an enzyme that cleaves intended RNA sequence, through the analysis on the function of PPR proteins.
