Mechanism of stress response for quality control of proteins
Quality control and metabolic regulation of proteins are important functions with which all organisms and cells are equipped. However, mechanism of those functions remains obscure. In this program, I focus on quality control and metabolic regulation of proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), study mechanism of ER stress responses for quality control of ER proteins, and approach unknown relationship among ER stress responses, quality control of proteins, and various pathological and physiological phenomena.
