In Japanese Animation (ANIME), animators often employ expressive or non-realistic representations for adding so called hyper-reality to their works. In contrast, computer graphics have been developed for achieving photographic realism of synthesized images, and therefore they are generally not suitable for supporting ANIME production. In this study, we will develop a technique we call "abstract rendering" that can synthesize expressive shading as well as exaggerated
character motions based on the analysis of hyper-reality pursued in ANIME. |
