Optical Routing Network Technologies that Enable Ultra-Low Power Consumption

Research Project Outline

In order to attain wide penetration of various bandwidth-hungry broadband services in the future, both further network performance advances and dramatic reductions in network power consumption must be attained. Photonic network technologies that utilize WDM and wavelength routing will provide the solution. This project aims at creating next-generation networks that can be optimized in terms of power consumption exploiting the photonic network technologies.
