Low-temperature facilities

Our low temperature facilities include 4He, 3He and dilution refrigerators with superconducting magnets and liquid helium recondensing refrigerators. We also have equipments necessary for the transport measurements and NMR pulse experiments.

Laser and measurement system

Our laser system is controllable wavelength laser system using Ti sapphire laser which can generate pulse trains of femtosecond width and picosecond width and also CW(Coherent). The measurement system consists of the laser system and cryogen free 3He refrigerator with superconducting magnet(Niki glass) and is used under super low vibration condition made by a high attenuation vibration-free bench.

Nano probe system

Our nano probe system consists of an atomic force microscope (AFM) (attocube) and a dilution refrigerator including an 8 T magnet (Oxford instruments). The AFM is designed for operating in low temperature and high magnetic field by using tuning fork construction. Using the system, we study property of electron and nuclear spins in semiconductor heterostructures, Carbon based materials and organic conductors.

Wafer bonding system

Our wafer bonding system consists of a wafer alignment system with a high accuracy and wafer bonding machine which heats overlapped wafers up to few hundred degree C in a high vacuum. By using this system and many kinds of semiconductors, new composite devices can be made.
