Mr Grundberg was born in Sweden in 1967. He holds a M.Sc. and an Advanced Studies Certificate from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Germany. Before joining the European Commission in 1997, he worked at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics in Stockholm, Sweden. At the European Commission, he has been working in different areas, such as State aid issues, and, since February 2005, in the unit for Innovation Policy Development in the Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry.
