Dr. Nishizawa received a bachelor’s degree (Agricultural Chemistry) in 1968, received a PhD (Agricultural Sciences) in 1973 from the University of Tokyo. She was an assistant professor at Laboratory of Plant Nutrition (the University of Tokyo) from 1982 to 1996. She also was a lecturer at Laboratory of Plant Molecular Physiology (the University of Tokyo) between 1996 and 1997. Since 1997, she is Professor and Head of Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology (the University of Tokyo).
