Masataka Watanabe

Professor, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University

Masataka Watanabe

Prof. Masataka Watanabe is a professor of Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University in Japan. He received MS in Environmental Engineering from Kyoto University in 1970 and Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from MIT in 1975. He has received several awards and prizes for his contributions to science, including TienShan Prize from China in 2003. His main research interests concern ecosystem modeling, biogeochemical cycles and science for sustainability. He contributed to UN Millennium Ecosystem Assessment as a Coordinating Lead Author.
