Charles (Chad) Clinton Evans
Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Council on Competitiveness

Chad Evans leads the Council’s Strategic Initiatives programs, including: the National Innovation Initiative (NII)--a multi-year, private sector-led effort to create an innovation agenda for the United States; the Global Initiative – geared to understand the new dynamics of competitiveness in the global economy and to facilitate open dialogue with key trading partners on collaborative paths to prosperity; and several special projects aimed to engage Council members in uncovering future, transformational competitiveness issues.
In addition to his work on national and global innovation ecosystems, Chad’s portfolio over the past decade has also centered on benchmarking the competitiveness of developed and emerging economies --including spearheading the Council’s flagship publication, The Competitiveness Index, chaired by Harvard Business School’s Professor Michael E. Porter.
Chad holds a MSc in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, an Honors concentration in International Business Diplomacy from Georgetown’s Landegger Program, and a BA from Emory University.
