Mr. Mimura received his B.A. from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Economics, in 1963. On the same year, he joined Fuji Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (which merged with Yawata Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. to form Nippon Steel Corporation in 1970). He obtained an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1972. Mr. Mimura was appointed as a member of the board of directors in 1993. He was elected to his current position, Representative Director and President, in 2003. He serves as a Vice Chairman of Nippon Keidanren since 2005.
