Kiyoshi Kurokawa
Special Advisor to the Cabinet for Science and Technology; Professor, National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS); Immediate Past President, Science Council of Japan
Dr. Kurokawa, MD, served as President of the Science Council of Japan and a member of the Committee for the Science and Technology Policy of the Cabinet Office of the Government (2002-2006). He was Professor of Medicine, Schools of Medicine of UCLA (1979-1984), the University of Tokyo (1989-2006), Dean and Professor of University of Tokai (1996-2002). He is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine of US National Academies and Association of American Physicians. He is the Founding Chairman of Japan Healthcare Policy Institute, an independent think-tank promoting healthcare reform. He has been a leader and an advocate for many academic and professional activities in Japan.
