Outline
In Malaysia, it is crucial to develop energy-storage materials based on recycling, utilizing agricultural wastes derived from unique local products of Malaysia such as palm plants. We integrate Japanese and Malaysian research expertise in this project and develop recycling-based energy-storage materials made from Malaysia's local products by cooperating Japanese big facilities (large-scale accelerator facilities and supercomputer facilities) and Malaysian's strengths in materials informatics (first-principles calculations, machine learning, molecular dynamics calculations). As a result, we build a unique community of young researchers who share techniques to utilize big facilities and knowledge of materials informatics. This project will be sublimated into sustainable and multi-layered international joint research. The foundation of the international collaboration system to develop green technology in Malaysia in a mutually complementary manner will be strengthened and the brain circulation will be realized through the mutual dispatch of excellent human resources. Furthermore, we aim to ensure a sustainable supply of recycling-based energy-storage materials for Malaysian society, reducing reliance on scarce resources.
