Outline

By leveraging this exchange opportunity, we aim to establish a research exchange and circulation system centered around the Joining and Welding Research Institute HUST-UOsaka (hereafter referred to as HUST-UOsaka), which our institute founded in collaboration with the School of Mechanical Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in January 2023. This initiative addresses the absence of a dedicated hub for joining and welding technology research in the ASEAN region. As the first research hub in this field within ASEAN, HUST-UOsaka is set to serve as a gateway for Japan-ASEAN collaboration, fostering exchanges with students and researchers from various ASEAN countries and facilitating international joint research in the field. During this program, research related to semiconductors with Vietnam, green technology and joining evaluation with Thailand, green technology with Malaysia, and joining evaluation with Indonesia will be conducted. These research projects will be carried out at our institute’s associated laboratories and will follow a structured plan divided into experimental stages and observation, computation, and analysis stages. In particular, the invitation from Vietnam for research on semiconductors is positioned as a step toward strengthening research capabilities with an eye on expanding into "International Joint Research" under this initiative.
