Outline
Hierarchical nanostructures composed of metal-oxides, -sulfides, or halides-based quantum dots (QDs) and nanowire arrays will be constructed as the active layer and the electron transporting layer of the QD solar cells and evaluated their photovoltaic characteristics. The project will be promoted initially at Kyoto University (KU) with sharing the results and discussion with the researcher of Universiti Malaya (UM) through regular online meetings. Thereafter, the researcher of UM will visit KU and get basic and technical skills for preparation and evaluation of the materials and devices. After going back to UM, the researcher will lead and conduct the study on QD solar cells in Malaysia and other ASEAN countries and the study will be developed in the field of engineering. Furthermore, throughout the teaching to students with the leadership, increasing the number of highly motivated students who want to join the double degree master program between UM and KU, and further activation of those collaborative education will be expected.
