Outline
In Laos, the introduction of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power generation is progressing, and the demand for DC power systems is increasing. In addition, with the development of industry and agriculture, there are concerns about the pollution of the water environment, and there are high expectations for water treatment technology using plasma, which has a high affinity with renewable energy. In this program, we will conduct an exchange program for young faculty members and students of National University of Laos, one of the leading educational institutions in Laos. The participants will learn basic knowledge of power systems, and in particular, understand the characteristics of DC power systems and the operation of various types of DC circuit breakers. In addition, students will acquire the basic knowledge of how to handle high voltage and measurement techniques, basic knowledge of plasma engineering, measurement techniques for gas- and liquid-phase active species (ozone, hydrogen peroxide, etc.), and basic knowledge and measurement techniques for water quality assessment, which are necessary for advanced water treatment technology using plasma.
