Outline
Japan and Southeast Asia are the regions with the most active volcanic activity of the world. Nanyang Technological University has one of the world's leading volcano research teams, and is conducting cutting-edge research activities, mainly focusing on active volcanoes in Southeast Asia. This exchange plan aims to interact between researchers from the University of Tokyo and Yamagata University who are conducting cutting-edge research mainly on Japanese volcanoes, and Nanyang Technological University, to promote a comprehensive understanding of volcanic activity in Japan and Southeast Asia, including its causes, eruption styles, and disasters associated with eruptions. At the same time, this exchange plan also aims to train the next generation of human resources involved in volcano research and administration.
