Outline

This project aims to foster research exchange between the Faculty of Agriculture at Yamagata University and Vietnam National University of Agriculture on the application of ICT to organic rice cultivation. Promoting organic farming is a common challenge in both Japan and Vietnam, and this project seeks to share and develop methods for applying ICT technology to address this issue. The exchange focuses on soil management and weed control in organic rice cultivation using ICT, with students and researchers from both countries collaborating on experiments and fieldwork.
In addition to in-person exchanges, online seminars will be held to facilitate interaction and capacity building among young researchers and students, promoting the sharing of research outcomes and the early adoption of new technologies. Through this exchange program, participants will gain practical knowledge and skills in organic farming through on-site visits, contributing to their future career development.
Furthermore, experts from both universities will assess the practical implementation of these methods and propose improvements based on the insights of each institution, contributing to the realization of sustainable agriculture and fostering the next generation of leaders.
