Palm oil, the world's most produced vegetable oil, has high oxidation stability, making it an indispensable raw material not only for cooking oil, but also for detergents, cosmetics, chemicals, fuel, and other products in our daily lives. The partner institutions for this project are three Malaysian universities, which are collaborating with companies to create a sustainable palm industry. The Japanese participants include young researchers and graduate students from Tohoku University, who are forcused on decarbonizing oil and fat production technology, as well as high school students developing businesses that make effectively utilize waste oil, in collaboration with Tohoku University. Through this exchange, participants will seek to understand the current situation and challenges in production areas from both agricultural and engineering perspectives.
