OUTLINE

Research in the field of biological data science is rapidly advancing, and the development of data infrastructure and the enhancement of data utilization are essential for driving progress in this area. Both Japan and Korea acknowledge the importance of international collaboration in this field, and there is a growing need to strengthen broad exchanges and joint research efforts.

In light of this context, the first Japan-Korea Biological Data Science Workshop was held in August 2025 to facilitate collaboration and exchange between Japanese and Korean biological data scientists, with presentation and discussions on the current states of management of genome and other biological data and their utilization with advanced techniques such as AI.
