OUTLINE
IIn 2023, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Japan celebrated 50 years of friendship and cooperation. Based on strong mutual trust, they took a new step toward the next 50 years as “Heart-to-heart partners across generations,” “Partners for co-creation of economy and society of the future,” and “Partners for peace and stability.”
ERIA School of Government’s mission to promote science and technology collaboration supports JST's efforts to advance the NEXUS initiative. In line with these goals, ERIA and APRC have organised a workshop on emerging and critical fields of mutual interest for ASEAN countries and Japan.
The workshop focuses on "Biomanufacturing," which countries around the world are focusing on to realize a carbon-neutral society. At the closed workshop held in Tokyo, researchers from both ASEAN and Japan will share the latest research information in the target field, build a professional network, and contribute to developing science and technology cooperation between ASEAN countries and Japan.
