Expectations for the Program

The more advanced science becomes, the more difficult it tends to be understood. On the other hand, the policy prioritizes ease of understanding in order to meet the needs of society. For this reason, the two tend to deviate from each other. However, scientific experts tend to get too deep into their area of expertise and lose sight of the needs of policy and society while it is desirable for science to meet these needs . I understand that it is an important role of an advisor to point out such issues from an objective point of view. I will keep track of progress to ensure that does not deviate from policy and social needs and advise on the appropriate course correction if necessary. It is ideal that the research will thereby become responsive to the needs of policy and society. The hope is that the result will be "science-based policy".
