President Nakamura and Mr. Kanji Fujiki, the Japanese Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, visited Odessa, Ukraine, between October 24(Thu) and 25 (Fri). During his stay, he attended the International Ukrainian-Japanese Conference on Scientific and Industrial Cooperation and paid a visit to related institutions, discussed with the concerned parties.
Upon his visit to Odessa National Polytechnic University, the conference place, he was welcomed by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine E.M. Sulima and discussed how to accelerate collaboration between the two countries in the fields of Science and Technology.
In the conference, President Nakamura gave an opening address, and then walked around the booths of Ukrainian universities, had a very lively discussion with Ukrainian researchers.
