In May 2013, the briefing sessions of Call for Proposals of CREST and PRESTO were held in NIMS, OIST and the Kyoto University with their supports.
More than 100 people participated in total. JST explained the outlines of CREST and PRESTO and the research directors of CREST and the researchers of PRESTO introduced the experiences of CREST and PRESTO. Q&A sessions were extended in all places since we had more questions than expected.
JST formulated “the International Strategies of 3rd mid-term plan of JST”. In these Strategies, it is described as basic thoughts that “to keep the research levels forever, it is necessary to invite world-class researchers to JST’s research activities.” The briefing sessions were organized as part of these strategies.
